1. The ancient shrine of Pateshwari Peetha is one of 51 Shakti-Peethas, which is established on a small mound.
2. The temple is dedicated to Hindu goddess Pateshwari, also known as Devi Patan.
3. Various legends explain how this Shakti-Peethas came into existence, but the most prevalent one is related to goddess Sita.
4. It is believed that Sita attained celestial Samadhi at this very place when she was asked to go through a test second time by Lord Ram.
5. The followers claim that there is a cave to Patal Loka (the lower world) exists near the temple mound that looks like a silver arbor.
6. The Surya Kund next to the temple was made by Karna in honor of his father, the Hindu Sun god.
7. During Chaitra Navaratri, a Mela (gathering) is organized in the temple, where the procession called Shobha Yatra of Peer Ratan Nath is held every year.
